Your order will arrive with you in an Eversfield Organic cardboard box. Inside the box is a polystyrene liner which helps to keep your meat cool along with ice packs for 34 hours.
Although the cardboard box is recyclable, the polystyrene is not. However some of our customers have been very creative with our packaging and reuse the icepacks for lunch boxes or picnics and the polystyrene for lining their animals beds for example to keep them cosy and warm! We have also had some great costumes made from our packaging.
We always like to see what people have done with their boxes so please send us in a picture to:
Eversfield Organic meat is completely free from artificial additives or preservatives. It has been raised naturally and that's why it tastes so good. However, this does mean that it must be kept chilled or frozen for best results. Keep all uncooked meat in a non-drip container in the bottom of the fridge and always cook on or before 'the use by date' printed on the label.
Before cooking roasting joints we recommend you to take the meat out of its bag and place it onto a non-drip plate covered with a clean tea towel or kitchen towel to remove excess liquid. This allows the meat to breathe and reach room temperature.
Please soak gammon joints 24 hours before cooking and change the water a number of times prior to cooking. This will make the meat less salty.
Our sausages and burgers should be cooked from fresh within 2 days of delivery or frozen straight away.
Freezing does not destroy the quality of the meat. Red meat can change slightly in appearance but do not worry, this is perfectly normal.
Defrost your meat slowly in the refrigerator and cook the meat as soon as it has defrosted fully.
