A warming and festive addition to your Christmas dinner – especially delicious on Boxing Day with your Christmas ham and mustard.
1 red cabbage, roughly sliced
2 onions, peeled and sliced
2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped into chunks
100ml red wine
100ml balsamic vinegar
1 knob of butter
sea salt & black pepper
¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
¼ teaspoon mixed spice
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar
50g sultanas (optional)
Tip: Add Roam & Relish Smoked Streaky Bacon at the very beginning for a delicious twist. Not traditional, but certainly worth breaking the habit for!
