A tasty traditional free range organic Goose. They are oven ready for the perfect Christmas meat or family celebration, a fantastic alternative to turkey. Fed only on a natural home grown organic diet supplemented by the clover rich pastures and allowed to slowly grow and mature into a lovely flavoursome bird.They are dry plucked and hung to give the perfect flavour. Produces fat which is excellent for future roasts.

Our goose farmer, James, looks after the family farm at Lower Washbourne, rearing our Christmas geese to the highest of organic standards.

The farm has been in the family for over 50 years and is a Devonshire gem, found in the idyll of Totnes on the south coast.

A delicious fresh home grown organic goose- free to roam and forage around in luscious fields.

  1. Prick the skin and rub with butter or melted goose fat, salt and pepper.
  2. Place the goose breast side up on a rack in a roasting tin.
  3. Cover the legs of the goose with foil.
  4. Cook in a preheated oven for 10 minutes at 240°C/220°C fan/Gas mark 9 then turn down to 190°C/170°C fan/Gas Mark 5 for the remainder of the cooking time.
  5. Baste the bird every 30 minutes.
  6. Rest for 30 minutes, covered loosely with foil and save the fat to use for potatoes and other roast veg.

Cooking times: 10 minutes plus 30 minutes per kilo.
