Chuck Steak, New Potatoes &Peas
Serves: 2-4 people
Time: Overnight Marinade Plus 30 mins cooking
Oven: 180 C 35 F Gas Mark 6
Ingredients:
- 500g Organic Chuck steak - sliced into strips
- 1 cup of red wine
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- Handful of Thyme
- 2 cloves garlic
- Cornflour
- New potatoes (enough for 4 people)
- Frozen peas (enough for 4 people)
Method:
For the Marinade:
Combine all the steak, soy sauce, wine,worcestershire sauce, thyme and garlic in a bowl and marinade the steak overnight in the fridge.
- Preheat the oven to Gas mark 6, 180c
- Place a pan on the hob to boil
- When the oven has reached temperature place the marinated steak in a roasting pan with the marinade and put in the oven for about 30 minutes
- When the water has boiled put in the new potatoes and cook until tender.
- Halfway trhough cooking time baste the steak with the marinade.
- 5 minutes before serving cook the peas.
- After 30 minutes take the steak out of the pan and keep warm.
- Add a teaspoon of cornflour to the juices to thicken, you can also add some stock at this point if you wish.
- Drain the potatoes and peas once cooked.
- Serve the beef with the potatoes and peas.
