Eversfield Organic Lamb comes from our flock of hardy Romney Marsh sheep which thrives on our herb rich Devon pastures. True to the pioneering Eversfield spirit, the parent flock is crossed with Lleyn rams to produce the ´Kent Halfbreed´ a cross that was once the mainstay of the British sheep industry, but is now, sadly, extremely rare. Matured on the bone for at least 7 days, our prize winning Organic Lamb is a real favourite and popular for its full taste, succulence and tender texture.
Eversfield Organic Lamb is supplied directly to our customers, this means we don’t need to rush the way we ´finish´ our animals as some farms do in order to supply the supermarkets in early Spring.
Instead we take our time at Eversfield and allow nature to help us judge when our lambs are ready once they´ve been weaned from their mother´s milk and enjoyed our lush Devon meadows, usually between 6 and 12 months. Our New Season Organic Lamb is therefore available from late summer. We continue to finish lambs all year round ensuring a supply of the finest Organic Lamb you’ve ever tasted!
