More Piglets at Eversfield!
Tuesday, July 29, 2008
Our small herd of organic Mediam and Large White sows have begun to farrow their second litter of piglets for this year. The first litter was born earlier this week - and it was the first time we've bred from our Meidam sow crossed with our Large White Boar. The sow has produced 16 healthy piglets who are all very white! Both the Meidam and Large White pig breeds are known for producing long bodied pigs with plenty of body mass resulting in quality pork meat. With several sows expecting babies between July and September the pig fields should be busy in the autumn!
