Chuck Steak, New Potatoes & Peas

Serves: 2 - 4 people
Time: Overnight Marinade, plus 30 mins cooking
Cooking: 180 C 35 F Gas Mark 6

Ingredients:

  • 500g Organic Chuck steak - sliced into strips
  • 1 cup of red wine
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • Handful of Thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Cornflour
  • New potatoes (enough for 4 people)
  • Frozen peas (enough for 4 people)

Method:

For the Marinade: Combine all the steak, soy sauce, wine, worcestershire sauce, thyme and garlic in a bowl and marinade the steak overnight in the fridge.

Preheat the oven to Gas mark 6, 180c

Place a pan on the hob to boil

When the oven has reached temperature place the marinated steak in a roasting pan with the marinade and put in the oven for about 30 minutes

When the water has boiled put in the new potatoes and cook until tender.

Halfway trhough cooking time baste the steak with the marinade.

5 minutes before serving cook the peas.

After 30 minutes take the steak out of the pan and keep warm.

Add a teaspoon of cornflour to the juices to thicken, you can also add some stock at this point if you wish.

Drain the potatoes and peas once cooked.

Serve the beef with the potatoes and peas.
